How to unlink a linked graphic that is floating over the text

Unfloat the graphic, unlink it, then refloat it:

1.  Right-click the illustration and choose Format Picture

a)  If using Word 97, click the Position tab and uncheck Float Over Text and click OK.

b)   If using Word 2000, click the Layout tab, select Inline with Text and click OK

2.  To unlink, you can then either

a)  Choose Links on the Edit Menu; select the illustration in the list of links, if not already selected, then click Break Link and click OK, or

b)  Select the picture and simply press Ctrl+Shift+F9, which is the shortcut for unlink.

3.  Right-click the illustration and choose Format Picture.

a)  If using Word 97, click the Position tab and check Float Over Text and click OK.

b) If using Word 2000, click the Layout tab, select the wrapping option which was selected at the start and click OK.
